If Ernests reads these comments, I wish to say as an American that I am very sorry for the awful behavior of Andy Roddick during their match. It was not lost on me that Andy made a rude comment to Ernests while passing by him during a change over. The TV camera picked it up, and it was very rude, and unsportsman like (I read lips). Andy lost a fan tonight, and maybe more than one. Sorry to Ernests, if he heard it. He has made new fans in U.S tonight, he is an excellent player, and a class act like Rafa for sure. Good luck in future Ernests!!!
Ernests, i wish you all the best to your Birthday and that you will be onetime the number one in the ranking!!!
I was said, that you lose against Andy Roddick, but it was good that you has wone one set!
I know, very funny. When is have read, that you born at really the same day in the same year… Just awesome…
I celebrate also today my 20th birthday
Have a nice day and good luck in the future!
Marion from Germany
Dear Ernests, vou know better than everyone else that you could have changed the story told with the first set under your belt and the second set just one game to go from winning. Sorry to say, but yes, I was disappointed to see you losing against Andy Roddick in the US Open. To see that you had it in your hands to win. And to see that finally you didn’t.
I adore your zen attitude towards losing and winning. I agree, both are the two sides of the same coin. However, it’s good to have this zen attitude but the very same attitude has to show on court as well. Agressiveness alone is not zen. An erratic game is not zen. Impatience is not zen at all.
„Patience is not passive; on the contrary, it is active; it is concentrated strength.“ – Edward G. Bulwer-Lytton
Winning or losing is then just the outer result of the inner concentration, balance and strength.
I have to admit that I say this partly out of self-centered interest. I would have just liked to see more of your moves and style
Ernests, happy 20th birthday. For the coming year in your life I wish you a good portion of health and luck, success and love. May you come closer to your dreams and wishes!
I missed what Roddick said during the change over, what did he say?
In any event, if he ever, ever, ever DARE insult our Ernests, he best watch his back, or he will have a pseudo Latvian army to contend with.
Continued support for Ernests! I think that McEnroe has jumped on our bandwagon, he is referencing ‘Gulbis’ up the wazoo!
Ernests — You are a major source of pride within the Latvian community in Latvia, in the U.S., and throughout the world. Keep up the great tennis! You looked AWESOME against Roddick Friday night and it is just a matter of time before you are in the Top 10!
He made me sit up and take notice of his game.If you ever see this Ernests, I wanna tell you that you have fans in Singapore. Keep going and improving your game. I’m sure that you’re on your way to be a top 5 player at least in the future, I may only be 17 but I know a good player when i see one.
You’ve got class. One day, you’ll be trying to shake off all those reporters hounding you. You’re on your way.
GOD BLESS!
cheers
